DeckPrompt is published by X8IQ Ltd (“X8IQ”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 11785751). Our registered address is 80-83 Long Lane, London, EC1A 9ET, United Kingdom.
DeckPrompt is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal data. Specifically:
DeckPrompt includes a built-in enhancement feature called “DeckPrompt AI”. When you enhance a prompt using this built-in feature, the text content of your prompt is sent from your device to a Cloudflare Worker operated by X8IQ, which proxies the request to Anthropic, PBC (https://www.anthropic.com) for processing by their Claude AI models.
Data is only sent when you explicitly trigger an enhancement. If you are offline, no data is sent and enhancement is unavailable until connectivity is restored.
DeckPrompt's Worker enforces a per-device usage cap using an anonymous device-generated identifier stored locally on your device. This identifier is sent with each request but is not linked to any personal information.
You may optionally add your own API keys for Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI), or Gemini Pro (Google) under Settings → Advanced. When you use a BYOK enhancement, your prompt text is sent directly from your device to the respective provider using your own API key. X8IQ does not proxy, intercept, log, or store these requests. These requests are governed by each provider's respective privacy policy:
If you use the voice dictation feature, microphone access and speech recognition are requested via Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer framework. The system permission dialog will appear before any audio is captured. Apple's system dialog discloses that speech data is sent to Apple to process your request. X8IQ does not receive, store, or process your audio or speech data.
DeckPrompt does not use any third-party analytics services, tracking scripts, advertising frameworks, cookies, or device identifiers. We do not run Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any similar tools. We do not collect behavioural data or build user profiles.
As an app distributed through the Apple App Store, we have access to Apple's built-in App Store Connect analytics. This provides aggregated, anonymised data such as download numbers, crash reports, device types, and geographic regions. This data cannot identify individual users and is provided by Apple to all developers. We do not add any analytics beyond what Apple provides by default.
The DeckPrompt website (deckprompt.com) is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect basic server access logs (such as IP addresses and page requests) as part of standard web hosting. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and visitor counts. This service does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and is fully compliant with GDPR.
DeckPrompt does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use the app.
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address, Apple ID, payment method, or any personally identifiable information from your purchase. Apple provides us with anonymised transaction data (date, territory, currency, proceeds) for financial reporting purposes only.
DeckPrompt offers a paid subscription (DeckPrompt Annual) at $9.99 per year (or local equivalent set by Apple), with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. All subscription billing is handled by Apple through the App Store using your existing Apple ID. X8IQ does not receive your payment details, payment method, or any personally identifiable information about your purchase.
Apple provides us with anonymised aggregate sales data only (transaction date, region, currency, proceeds) for financial reporting purposes. Apple notifies us of subscription status changes (new subscription, renewal, cancellation, refund) via App Store Server Notifications, but these notifications use anonymised transaction identifiers and contain no personal information.
Family Sharing entitlements are managed entirely by Apple and grant access through the same anonymised mechanism.
You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS, or System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on macOS.
DeckPrompt is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used DeckPrompt in a way that raises concerns, please contact us at privacy@deckprompt.com.
Because we do not collect or process personal data directly, the standard data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection) are not applicable in the context of our services. However, if you believe we hold any data relating to you, you have the right to contact us to request access, correction, or deletion.
If you are based in the EU, you also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are based in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). In practice, because we do not collect or store personal data, these rights are unlikely to be applicable, but you may still contact us to enquire.
You may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how your data is handled.
All data remains on your device or within your private iCloud account. API keys are stored using Apple's Keychain Services, which provides hardware-backed encryption. X8IQ operates no servers that store or process your personal data.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
